Michael McLeod Tischer of Dover, died Thursday October 20, 2011 at Kent General Hospital. He was 68.
Mr. Tischer was born March 10, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Ralph and Ethlyn Tischer. He was a graduate of Archmere Academy in Claymont, DE, and received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware and his J.D. from the Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle, PA.
He served in the United States Army for 5 years, first in Military Intelligence and then as a Captain in the JAG Corps. Mr. Tischer worked for the State of Delaware as a Deputy Attorney General for 30 years. He was a recipient of the Governor’s Diamond State Award in 1983. Mr. Tischer was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors.
Mr. Tischer is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Jane Irvin Tischer of Dover; children Andrew Tischer and his wife Takako of Seattle, WA; Sarah Pinto and her husband Joel of Odessa, DE; and Christopher Tischer of Rockville, MD; grandchildren, Sophia and Augustus Pinto.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
